The successful candidate will provide engineering support primarily for internal customers. The support will be in the form of engineering designs, drawings and technical information as required for new technology & automation deployment and special project support. Periodic involvement in tool design efforts to include molds, fixtures and shop equipment as well as helping in developing/improving production processes. This position is expected to spend approximately 75% of their time on the shop floor.


  • Work closely with operations and engineering/QA staff to analyze problematic process and develop improvement plans.
  • Oversee design and construction of new/specialized equipment
  • Provide expertise in automation implementation and programming.
  • Participate in various forums to review & revise tooling designs with the affected operations team members to make required changes.
  • When required, assist with quotation process by providing 3D models and related information to make quotations accurate and realistic.
  • As required, assist quality personnel in FAI, PPAP activities and in materials testing.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Post Secondary education in a mechanical engineering related discipline.
  • Hands-on / team-based Root Cause Analysis skills
  • Demonstrable 3D modeling experience (design & drawing generation).
